Anti-extrusion rings are the guardians of the seal stack: seated beside the packings, they close the clearance gap so high pressure cannot force the softer seal material to extrude into the gap and tear. Part 660024 (which supersedes part 90502200 — if your older parts list shows 90502200, this is its direct replacement) belongs in the high-pressure section of the stack, and a cracked or flattened anti-extrusion ring is a common reason new packings fail quickly.
