Hoses Buying Guide
Match the PSI rating to your pump, with headroom
Buy hose rated at or above your pump's maximum operating pressure, not just its typical working pressure — pressure spikes happen. A hose rated below your pump's PSI can fail suddenly under load.
Diameter affects pressure delivery
A too-narrow hose restricts flow over long runs, reducing effective pressure and GPM at the gun regardless of what the pump produces. Match diameter to your pump's GPM and the hose length you need — longer runs benefit from the next size up.
Non-marking vs. standard cover
Gray non-marking hose costs more but won't leave black scuff marks on concrete or siding, which matters for commercial work on customer property. Standard hose is fine for driveways, farm use, and equipment you don't need to keep pristine.
Hoses FAQ
Why does my hose keep kinking?
Kinking is usually a sign the hose is being coiled too tightly for its diameter, or that it's cold — PVC and rubber hoses stiffen and kink more easily in cold weather. Letting it warm up before uncoiling helps.
Can I repair a leaking fitting instead of replacing the hose?
Yes, if you have the correct crimping equipment — a hose that weeps at the coupling rather than mid-length usually just needs the fitting replaced. Without a crimper, a full replacement hose is more reliable than a field-repaired fitting.
What length hose do I actually need?
Measure your longest realistic working distance from the machine and add 10–15 feet for maneuvering room — running two shorter hoses coupled together works but adds two more potential leak points versus one continuous length.
