The pump is the heart of a pressure washer, and replacement/rebuild parts here are compatible with the major triplex plunger pumps used across residential and commercial machines — Annovi Reverberi (AR), Cat Pumps, General Pump, and Comet, plus the pumps built into Hotsy and Mi-T-M units. Every pump is rated for a specific GPM (flow) and PSI (pressure); parts sized for one rating won't seat or seal correctly on a different one, even within the same brand.

Pumps Buying Guide

Find your model before you order

Your pump's data plate — usually stamped on the pump head or a sticker near the belt guard — lists the brand, model number, GPM, and PSI. Every part search should start from that model number, not a generic search for "pump seal kit."

Direct-drive vs. belt/gear-drive

Direct-drive pumps mount straight to the engine or motor shaft and are common on consumer and mid-range commercial units. Belt- and gear-driven pumps run at a different RPM than the engine and are typical on higher-flow commercial rigs — confirm which style you have before ordering a rebuild kit, since seal and bearing kits differ between them.

OEM vs. aftermarket

Quality aftermarket seal kits, valves, and unloaders from reputable manufacturers typically cost 30–50% less than the same part sourced through a dealer counter, because dealer pricing includes distributor and counter markup on top of the manufacturer's price. The exception is precision-machined pump heads and crankcases, where OEM or a well-reviewed direct equivalent is worth the extra cost — tolerances matter more on parts that hold pressure than on wear items like seals and o-rings.

Pumps FAQ

How do I know if I need a new pump or just a rebuild kit?

If the pump head and crankcase aren't cracked and the plunger bores aren't scored, a seal/valve rebuild kit almost always restores full performance at a fraction of a replacement pump's cost. Scoring, cracking, or a pump that won't hold pressure even after new seals and valves usually means it's time to replace the pump.

What are the signs a pump is failing?

Milky or cloudy oil (water in the crankcase), oil leaking past the plunger, pressure that won't build or holds unevenly, and knocking or grinding from the pump head are the most common early warning signs.

How often should I change pump oil?

Most triplex pump manufacturers recommend the first change after 50 hours, then every 500 hours or annually, whichever comes first — check your specific pump's manual since intervals vary by model.
