Match size to your machine's GPM
A 20" surface cleaner needs meaningfully more flow than a 12" one to spin the bar at an effective speed. Undersize the machine for the cleaner and the bar stalls or spins too slowly to clean evenly; a 4 GPM / 4000 PSI unit can run a 20" cleaner with dual 15° tips all day, while a 2.5 GPM electric unit is better matched to a 12" cleaner with 25° tips.
Replacement nozzles wear faster than the bar itself
The two small nozzles under the shroud are wear items and are usually the first thing to need replacing — worn nozzles show up as streaking or uneven cleaning even when the bar itself still spins freely.
