Kit 181 is a combined low-pressure and high-pressure seal service set for one cylinder of a triplex plunger pump — the inlet-side (low-pressure) seals that handle feed water plus the high-pressure seals that contain discharge pressure, together with their supporting hardware. In a triplex pump each cylinder runs a two-stage sealing arrangement: the LP seals see inlet pressure and keep water from escaping toward the crankcase, while the HP seals hold full working pressure. Servicing both stages together is the reliable way to reseal a cylinder, since wear on one stage usually means the other is close behind.
