Kit 161 is the 18 mm seal packing service set — the high-pressure packings and associated seals for one cylinder of a triplex plunger pump running 18 mm plungers. The packings are the cup-style rings that hold back full discharge pressure around each plunger, and they wear from friction and heat until water weeps from the head or pressure drops. Because each of the three cylinders has its own stack, this kit services one cylinder; many technicians reseal all three at once for even performance.
